Christine lee told me that Chris bee wrote something about me on his blog. (chrisbee.wordpress.com)
Actually he wrote it 2 years ago, when I was in Korea, It was so touching that I almost cried. Since Korean guys are nice, gentle, and hot, it is my turn to write something about Chris Bee. After you read this, you will know that he is actually quite ok and normal unlike you may think.
Ok, like Chris said, I can’t remember when and how I met Chris, and how we became good friends either. I just remember that first time when he said he is a Taiwanese, I really didn’t believe him. I thought he was just joking. So I was shocked when I saw him speaking Chinese like real Chinese. The most Chinese looking Indian ever! According to Chris, Indian blood is where his good looking came from.
When I was still a student, much younger than now, my care group (Daniel 1) was on Fridays. Since Ablaze 3 had care group gatherings on Thursdays at that time, He invited me over to his care group, play guitar together, and I think that was how we got to know each other better and spent time together.
Here are some good memories between Chris and myself, not sure if he remembers J.
- During my school break, he called me to come to his apartment in the city, and he cooked for me for the first time. It was t-bone steak. In fact, he was the first guy who invited me and cooked for me. Yes, he liked me first.
- One day, he asked me to come over to help him change his guitar strings. I wanted to tell him to focus on keyboard and dance ministry, but I couldn’t do so because he was about to cry with his broken strings. While I was changing strings , we also shared about care group, serving God , and so on.
- During the final exam period of the final year, he talked to me over msn, asking me how the exam was going. On that night, he took me out for dinner to encourage me.
- When I was in training period for worship ministry, sometimes Chris and I were asked to play on Tuesday prayer meeting so that I could learn how to dance with guitar from the best. Although the lesson was not really successful, we had a great time, playing guitar together to praise and worship God. Thank God that he improved a lot in playing guitar!
- Countless visits to the little taipei, coffee square, Mcdonals in Sunnybank and many talks about our lives.
- Like Chris shared on his blog, a night before renewalk. Sleeping on sofa, talking and talking. Yes it was me who kept on talking.
- When I came back for 3 three months to get my permanent residency visa in 2005, he warmly invited me to stay with him until going back to Korea. During that time, we watched a lot of shows like the apprentice, the Simpsons, the lost and all that, tried to write a song, also Raymond taught me how to play “majong” and played together. During my staying with them, I was so blessed by their love and care for me. He encouraged me to actually stay back in Brisbane , serving God and church together. He also organized a farewell party for me. It was my last night in Brisbane. I couldn’t thank him enough, so I wrote a letter to him and also to Ray to appreciate their friendship.
while I’m writing this, all of sudden, I remember when and how we talked to each other first! Yes, I am still young enough to remember things. I think it was during the freedom rally , the conference we had in 2003. I was catching the bus to UQ in the city and we just bumped into each other. He said that God sent me to company him on the way to UQ. So we had a chat on the way, talked about the conference, care group, stuff like that. Do u remember Chris? J I think that was the first long conversation we had.
They are just small things that he has done for me, I have more stories to tell you about how blessed I am because of this great friend from God.
Even though we have totally different skin colour, I truly think that he is my brother that God has put in my life just to bless me. He is truly someone that I can talk to what I feel inside without a lie, someone that I can rely on, and trust. During my staying in korea last 1 and half years, I called him few times when I was tired of my life, work in korea, just to have a chat with him. Even though we didn’t talk that much over the phone, I could feel that he is always there for me, keeping me in his prayer, and I believe that was really something that secured me during my staying there.
Well, we are still In our 20s , have many days to live. I sometimes wonder how much we will be changed in 10 years or 20 years time. Even now things are different from when I was here before. Some say people change, but I pray that our friendship and desire for God will be the same, even continue to grow. We will see greater moments come to pass together, sharing good times and bad times. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say Thank you Chris, my life has been blessed so much because of you, brother. Even though I’ve been ridiculing you since I came back, it is because I missed you so much and this is how we show love in Korea! And I promise you that I will buy white dress shoes for myself to show that you are not alone. Go good looking Indian!
